Experience
I am originally from New Orleans, and I graduated from Louisiana State University with a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Mathematics Education. After graduating from LSU, I moved to Dallas and began teaching. I also attended the University of Texas, Dallas, where I obtained my master's degree in secondary mathematics education. I continued my education at Southern Methodist University and completed the ESL/Newcomer program, which helped me prepare to obtain my ESL certification. During the past eight years, I have worked with 7th and 8th grade students in math at two different middle schools. I take pride in seeing these students not only learn, but also grow as people. I try to build relationships with my students and their families, which helps me motivate my students to excel academically and personally. I am now an academic facilitator and instructional coach at a number of different schools, and I continue to enjoy finding ways to make a positive impact on students. I am able to tutor students in a wide variety of math subjects, including elementary and middle school math, STAAR preparation, pre-algebra, and algebra.When I'm not teaching, I am traveling. I also enjoy amusement parks, pool, bowling, dining out, and watching sports. Geaux Tigers!
